Blossom Flourish Wither Perish
Flowers (dried and fresh), paper, copper
Dimensions variable
2017

Made of flowers (fresh and dried) contributed by the people of Orebro, Sweden, these flowers come from all kinds of bouquets. Some are from precious wedding bouquets, some from funeral wreaths, valentine's days, easter celebration, everyday occasions. Some are from gardens and others are wild flowers from the countryside. Some of the flowers and bouquets came with messages and datesall the way back to 1970!! Each flower has its own story that was often related with much emotion by the contributor.

The space was filled with the fragrance of flowers. Over the course of the exhibition the fresher flowers dried, becoming ever more fragile and blending in with others that had been dry for very long. Many were on the brink of crumbling into powder- a reflection on the fragility of human experiences and of human life itself.
